Researching language and cognition in bilinguals

چکیده

Aims: This article reviews recent research on the relationship between language and thinking in bilinguals. Approach: The paper aspects of previous research, links it to articles this special issue. Conclusions: Research cognition bilinguals requires both depth (in-depth investigations one area order test approaches methods) breadth (investigations a wide range areas). It should cover all levels cognition, line with latest theoretical methodological developments relevant disciplines (e.g. using linguistic non-linguistic tasks, collecting quantitative qualitative data). Originality significance: introduction discusses important field.
